Jim Howe was born in 1950 and

Central City, Iowa. In 1971 he

1973.

His eclectic career pursuits
have included musician,

artist.

Jim began playing music in
1966, performing
professionally from 1976 until
1988. He has played the bass
guitar for over 25 years, the
majority of the time with the
Wapsie River Band.

Wood became Jim's medium of
choice in the winter of 1990
when, living in a cabin along
the Wapsie River in Iowa, he
took up carving seriously out
of sheer boredom.

In Jim's own words, "I fell in
love with wood art. With the
help and inspiration of my
good friends, I am working at
something I love to do."
