I am inspired by landscapes that contain dazzling color and take my spirit on a journey into the painting. It might be traveling a vanishing point down a road or lane, over a hill or resting in a house that is surrounded by a beautiful setting. |

| Why Did You Become An Artist |
I had no idea I had any artistic ability until college. I took some art classes and was encouraged to continue. I love color, the aspect of self expression through painting, and art history. |

| Your Personal Biography |
I am originally from Portland, Oregon where I was a child of the 50's, and now live in the midwest.
I graduated with my degree in fine arts from the University of Nebraska, at first majoring in art history and changing to studio art.
I taught art at the American School of Warsaw in Warsaw, Poland in the early 1990's. I have also been a substitute teacher in public schools in the midwest area. I am currently a mentor for a local non profit organization that assists junior high level kids.
I have been painting and going to "art" for the past 13 years where we paint regularly. The "art" group is a gathering of artists that work and paint together at the studio of a well known artist in the region. She oversees our work and provides her insight.
I am single, and have a 21 year old son who is an engineering student and a 24 year old daughter who is now a CPA. I invited a young girl I met in Warsaw to live with me in the U.S. and complete her education. She lived with me for 2 years and now has 2 masters degrees, married a professional and they have 3 children. |
