Welcome to Jim Read's Portfolio. Browse Read's body of work: Photography is the culmination of a great deal of knowledge and experience expressed at the end of one finger. I strive to obtain harmonious compositions that are absorbed unawares by the eye, but have enough presence to compel returning again and again.
I love line and the curves created by line and I love texture and the juxtaposition of textures. I use light to enhance these lines and those textures when making my photographs. In my minds eye I have the print, transposed from an object in front of my camera to its paper resting place.
