Biggest Artistic Inspiration There are Two big artistic inspirations in my life:
1. I got praise from everyone at a family gathering when at 7 years old I drew stick figures in action. Stick figures have evolved to human forms, roses, and landscapes.

2. The Movie Great Expectations. It woke me up from the art slumber i had been suffering for a few years.

Why Did You Become An Artist I became an artist primarily to take my mind off other problems affecting my life. Art was the true love that allowed me to get the images that revolved in my head and drove me insane at times.

Your Personal Biography I was born in Santiago, Chile, on December 31, 1970. I am thankful to be born in a land that has a rich culture of people expressing their feeling, messages, or visions in many mediums of art (Roberto Matta, Pablo Neruda, Gabriela Mistral).

At the age of seven, my father decided that we all immigrate to the United States. We didn't leave Chile because of political persecution. We left because my dad felt we could have a better life in this land of opportunity.

Other than that spark of talent with the stick figures at the age of seven, I always felt my artwork to be below par because my older brother was always getting accolades for his oil paintings, although to this day he's never, ever, completed a single one. I think those accolades were given because he was and is an architect. Little do people realize that architect are not always great artist. My brother is a great artist, but can't complete a single piece. I guess that's a story for another day.

As for me, my art inspiration and dedication didn't kick in until my 20's, when worried that I'd be a starving artist for the rest of my life, got a dual degree in Visual arts and Marketing Management from Cal State University Los Angeles. It was this moment in my life that I was able to understand art, and realized that everyone has something to say when it comes to visual arts, and thus I started to look at my own work in a more proactive positive way.

I have been actively painting for 10 years now, and although there are many artist that have inspired me throughout my artistic endeavours, I choose not to categorize my style. I paint what I see, and I paint what people can recognize: A human form, a landscape, or a rose. I can paint more than these three objects, but I've observed throughout history, we have expressed our deepest sentiments by executing these 3 forms on canvas, guache, lithographs, paper, what have you. I invite you to take a look at my work. Enjoy!
