Artist Statement:
My work isn’t about perfection
but, rather, capturing a
feeling about my subject.
Manipulating what I see in
reality to fit an image I have
and how I feel about it is my
intention — and it's a
continual challenge. The
process can take a few hours
or several months but
spontaneity is an important
element. When possible, I
prefer to work from life but
don’t limit myself in that
way. My principal motivations
are simple: objects in nature,
color or something I find
unusual. A desire to share my
ideas and the joy I experience
in creating them keeps me
doing what I love. I strive to
approach each new work
differently while seeking new
ways to challenge myself in
the creative process.
