Artist Statement:
after recieving a four year college degree, I attended the famous Art Center College of Design in Los Angeles. Two years into the program, I was hired by a corporation as Art Director, a potential that I could not refuse at that time. After deciding that this was not a good fit, I merged into Commercial Art and was commissioned by many corporations, recording, publishing, Movies, etc. Then I began painting for myself, trying to find a direction that was both stimulating and rewarding to my own soul. My transition went from traditional studies of the Classics, to Contemporary methods. And everything in between. It is the paradox of the Artist to search for self and this became my journey, one which is still morphing and growing. My work is consumed now with spontaneous strokes of dynamic color, allowing my inner feelings to pour onto the canvas. I also allow mood and music to elevate the most primal urges to create, and it has taken on many forms. Currently, I am merging the two dimension with three dimensional forms, the paintings are becoming sculptures. Working large has become very important to me because it allows tremendous freedom.
