Artist Statement for John Manzi
|
|
|
Through my extensive travels and experiences I have studied artwork in all media forms observing their various shapes, styles, colors and textures for starters along with the progression from realism into the abstract. I believe my own journey with photography brought me to a place where shooting works in the abstract brought me into a new world filled with so many places unexplored.
My work is both 35mm and digital, with no manipulation. This work is created with the intention of invoking thought and great emotion through it's color, light and lines which often mirror those of the human body. I have often be told that my work is quite sensual and sexual. That is something I won't deny for I see life and how it all interconnects as quite a sexual or sensual experience.
I will keep this message brief because I perfer you spending time exploring my work. Enjoy the journey.
