Artist Statement for Joanne Taylor Brown

|
With these land and seascapes I explore a time before human touch, when only natural forces of gravity and air flow formed the environment. The forming of these pieces is an exciting exploration into a fantasy world of the contrast between earth tones and vibrant blues and greens, visualizing a deep blue lake in a high mountain plateau or an emerald green pool in a desert oasis. Intricate and complex in their construction, the work has developed as a response to my fury over the treatment of this earth.
