Artist Statement:
My favoured art techniques are
printmaking, painting and
drawing. I like creating
characters, imaginative
figures, flowing distortions,
shape and
pattern-based pictures, and
layering subtleties. Since
completing a Bachelor of Fine
Arts Degree at Otago School of
Art, I have continued my
exploration of the visual
arts.
Art for me is firstly an
expressive outlet and secondly
a means of self discovery and
identity. I adapt to a variety
of medium but a common
denominator in my art would be
the play of line vs space and
the layering processes which
build up in the image.
I use my surroundings and
experiences to inspire my art
drive. I am working towards an
ever more resolved pictorial
vision which reflects my
interpretation of how to play
with the picture plain in
terms of form/colour/subject.
