American commission artist / painter Diane Jorstad welcome's you to her web site. I've always loved art but it wasn't until 1987 that I seriously committed myself to starting a business of it. Since then I have enjoyed painting for people. It is very gratifying to be able to paint something special for someone, a picture of their home, a custom pet portrait of the family pet or a loved one. I have also given art classes and worked with local businesses.
I enjoy painting most any subject. I use oils for it's stability and permanence but I also use pastels and colored pencil.
I feel art is a recording of history. A painting can send a message or idea or feeling to everyone no matter what language or nationality you are. Art is universal.
