Artist Statement for Jose Maria Casas

|
Jose Maria Casas is a young emerging artist from Mar del Plata, Argentina. He is studing Psycology at the National University of Mar del Plata (U.N.M.d.P.).
He started to paint in 1993 after years of drawing and ceramics instruction. His instruction in paints continued until the end of 1997. After a silence period he started to paint again in June of the year 2000 and still doing so until today under the alias of "two-".
He works primary with oilpaints, but his creation array expands from drawing and painting to digital art and photograpy.
He works and creates from an absctract-conceptual-expressionist point of view with an special attention in the use of colours a forms and the balance and relationship within them. To generate a finished view of his aproach to art is essential to add to the above mix that he have minimalims influenses too. He is in love with the simple forms and compositions and the way they can trasmit a lot more than complex and overcharged desings.
So if you can integrate his kandinsky-spiritual-philosophical aproach to colours and arts, his love for the expressionism of the simple forms and compositions, with a open and fowarding thinking mentality that workz in a conceptual way you will get an idea of his creative basics and how it elaborates, process and workz. But from where comes the inspirations that feeds and make that system work? Intense Real Life experince and musical induced states of mind.
What about his carrer? well he think that the thing that count `re his workz, if you have a brain you can evaluate his art without the need of what other think and says about them. But i can tell you that he love to share, so he is constantly doing expos at gallerys, malls, bars, museums, clubs, and any wall that let him share his art with new people.
Still waiting for a normal profile??(subliminal note for yoursel: "you don`t have a brain").. well he has earned some local and international Awards and good Reviews, but i insist.. that is not what matters.. what matters about art.. is the art.. the song.. the book.. the paint.. not wat is said about them.
