Joseph Wong was born in China in 1948 and moved to Hong Kong with his family when he was six years old. He accumulated his painting techniques mostly by his own experimentation.
Between 1980 and 1982 he made four trips to Europe to visit museums and prints rooms. Later, he started his teaching in the extramural studies in the Chinese University of Hong Kong. From 1984 to 1989 he was a part-time lecturer in the Fine Arts Department in the University of Hong Kong. He and his family moved to Canada in 1989 and currently reside in Richmond, B.C. For the past 19 years he has been a part-time art instructor at Kwantlan University College and other workshops in Richmond, B.C.
Joseph's works are in the collections of the Hong Kong Museum of Art, the Fung Ping Shan museum, the University of Hong Kong and in private collections. In 1994 he became a signature member of the Federation of Canadian Artists.
