Artist Statement for L. Jay Adams
|
|
|
Art, to me, is a way of expressing my gratitude to God for the beautiful world around me. Since I was a child, I have always loved the outdoors. I like to take time to explore nature, and then capture what I feel and display it on canvas. Although I like to take thousands of photographs of breathtaking sunsets, sunrises, frosty and misty fields, people, and all kinds of animals, I also like to create scenes in my mind. I like to imagine what Heaven will someday be. I hope that my paintings might inspire and lift others to believe that there is a world--not as far from us as we might think--where misery and suffering are only a memory in the back of our minds that occurred only so we would appreciate eternal bliss.
