Artist Statement:
"Fresco" is Italian for
"fresh." I use the ancient
method of painting with fresh
earth minerals, fresh water
and fresh plaster. All this
freshness creates
carbonization, a chemical bond
that can endure for centuries.
This series is inspired by the
storytelling frescoes of
Pompeii, Italy, where I teach
fresco workshops...
