Hello!
I like to hear from my viewers. It is possible to send me an e-mail from the portfolio website or to leave a note in my electronic guestbook. I appreciate your input and love to know who has paid me a visit. The newest additions to my portfolios are photos from a recent trip to Hawaii. I love all the the tropical plants and lush vegetation there. "Fast Forward" to the end of the portfolio to see what I have added. Read on if you are interested in how painting and photography became passions.
My interest in art goes back to my childhood when I hung my first exhibit in the garage and charged the neighborhood children to see it. This early interest lay rather dormant for several decades as higher education, marriage, motherhood, teaching foreign language and English, and world travel with my career Navy husband filled my time. The need to be creative never left me during that time, but I expressed myself in writing, in designing curriculum, and in clothing design for many years. A visit to the San Luis Obispo I Madonnari Art Festival in 1996 inspired me to unleash my creative forces anew and to channel them into the world of watercolor and later to mixed media as well as to photography. Now I have retired from teaching, and I am pleased to have more time to devote to art.
My enthusiasm for painting watercolors has not flagged in the last ten years. Initially, I displayed my work in my own home or gave it away to relatives. As my work improved and my subject matter expanded, I have dislplayed my work in competition at the 2004 Ventura County Fair, where I won two second place ribbons, and in seven different exhibitions sponsored by the California Gold Coast Watercolor Society, the Phyllis Doyon Studio, the Camarillo Art Society, and the Trilogy Art Guild. Painting has swelled into a great source of joy and a very necessary creative outlet. I am never bored because there are so many approaches, subject matter and media that I am anxious to try. My goals for 2007 are to continue with watercolor and color photography and to add oil pastel to my website portfolio.
I have also made notecards from some of my paintings and color photographs and sell them in assorted packages of five to eight. Please enjoy my paintings and photographs and come back again!!! Feedback is welcome. Please feel free to sign my electronic guestbook here or to send me an e-mail from this site. Thank you for visiting!!! Please come back again.
