Juan Pablo Canale
Born 7th of december 1,974, Self-taugh Guatemalan Artist.. Grandson of Jose Mongrell (1870-1937), one of the most recognized Spanish painters of the 19th - 20th century and nephew of Ramón Banús (1939- ), one of the most recognized contemporary Guatemalan painters.
Active Painter since 2001, on the same year, travelled to Europe to study with various contemporary painters.
Studied “Marketing” in the University Rafael Landivar, Guatemala.
Teacher of painting in Various Guatemalan Art Academies.
Worked on graphic design and Drawings for many companies & indiividuals.

2004: Presented a Collections in Guatemala City, denominated “FANTASIA(Fantasy)” in the Art gallery “Cantón, 4 grados norte.
2005: Illustrated a Guatemalan humour book called “CON RESPETO PARA USTE(With all due respect)”
2005: Showed an exhibit of Guatemalan people called “RAICES (Roots)” in Galeria Panza Verde, Antigua Guatemala.
2006: Participated in a joined exhibition in the French Cultural center of Guatemala, called “RETRATOS DE LA TIERRA (Earths portraits)”, where the feelings of our mother earth were illustrated.
2007: Presented in the gallery of the restaurant/bar, Café No Sé, Antigua Guatemala, a collection of drawings and Illustrations Called “..DE CUANDO TENGO MAS PELOTAS QUE NECESIDADES (..of when I have more guts than needs), with the belief that his own personal ideas, prevail over the public acceptance.
2008: "URBAN PEACE", a collection of moments gone by in a second that bring the real beauty in life according to the artist. |
