Artist Statement:
For the last 3 years I have been working on a series of sculpture expressing the struggles and aspirations of the modern day worker. Drawing on my experiences, I would take a business concept and place the characters in unaccustomed surroundings using sports as a metaphor, then, illustrating the idea in a 3 dimensional form. While the early pieces focused on the figures and the action participated in, I progressed in my ideas and began to change the perspective of the viewer by extending the space the character was placed in. These four pieces are part of a series of seven which are the outcome of my progress. Each piece shows the character in the working urban environment, whether psychological or physical, and their relationship to it. The viewer sees the concept while visually experiencing a large space in a small sculpture. ...
