Artist Statement:
here I am
at the age of 60
born in Germany
lived and traveled in almost all corners of this world.
I have been a businessman most of my life.
I have no formal art education.
However, I have studied art - by reading, looking, watching, discussing and by painting since childhood.
I see this rather as an advantage. It allows me to be unpretentious, down to earth, and sometimes simplistic without the usual “art talk” of many words that are only understood by a limited circle of sophisticated, highly trained insiders and professionals with their own language and terminology.
I am not entirely dumb.
I have an analytical mind
I love to debate (my own ideas and others’}
I am curious
I am critical, sometimes provocative
I love to paint
which I have done - unfortunately with limited time
- fortunately without commercial pressure
I have shown my paintings in private and public exhibitions with excellent response
I am not quite dead yet
I shall paint more.
My definition of art:
