Artist Statement:
My name is Julie and I'm a 36yr old painter living and working in Dublin. I work primarily on sized paper and wood (MDF) in oils/mixed media. My work draws on my own life experiences as well as the world around me, in a storytelling and a visual sense, using pure colour.
My painting is mostly figurative-based, and is about communication
between human beings, non-communication and mis-communication.
I'm exploring the sense of how we perceive ourselves, through our
relationships with other people and how we act around and are
influenced by those people.
