| Your Personal Biography |
Julie Miller is an independent artist who works in different types of mediums to create her vision. Using pastels and acrylic paints, her abstract works draw the viewer in with the vibrant use of color, textures & shapes. She challenges the viewer to think about each piece and find their own meaning in what they see.
Julie works with many different types of mediums including, but not limited to, acrylics on canvas, pastels on paper, mixed media using modeling paste, newspaper, colored paper and various items to bring depth and texture to her works.
Born and raised in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, Julie has always been interested in painting, drawing, and crafting to see what new pieces she can create. In 1997, she received a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Lehigh University and then relocated to South Florida in 2001 to further her art career and gain additional experience in shaping her style. She has created pieces of corporate art for display in lobby atriums, as well as many pieces for private collections. Currently, you can find her work hanging on the walls of Aquarian Age, an innovative gallery in Boca Raton, Florida.
“I try to paint/sketch my emotions and what is in my mind's eye…to make people think about what they are looking at, regardless of whether they like the piece or not. A lot of things in this world today are very passive and don't require people to think. I do the opposite with my work…I create art that moves your mind.™”
