What is "Passionate art for the dreamer"?
In my art, I attempt to extend to you the viewer an invitation to visit your day dreams
- your memories. That special place in your heart or perhaps that perfect day.
I believe that art is living and has the ability to affect everyone differently.
Coming from a large French Canadian family, there was always lots of laughter -
music and animated personalities. I was often surrounded with
creative and eclectically colorful people. It was at a young age that I began to enjoy the art of watching people and things, reading my surroundings. I began to draw as a child but was not content with "coloring between the lines".
I wanted to draw the picture the way I saw it. If a tree was brown
I could bring it back to life and make it green.
There is beauty in everything and often a child like approach can be the
catalyst to maintaining our longevity and happiness.
Because of this it was only natural that
the progression went from drawing to Impressionist painting.
I have been painting for 12 years and have enjoyed every minute of it. For me it is not a hobby, it is much more. Making the decision to commit myself to my passion full time is something I take on with great enthusiasm and pride. I am currently working on a new collection of vistas that will showcase the various styles I have developed.
My goal is to have this viewing ready for July 2008.
My painted works stretch from subjects in northern Canada to South America, the Caribbean to Europe, and now Coastal B.C. Usually, I take photographic journeys and develop my subject from there. I paint with oils on gessoed canvas
and use mainly hog bristle brushes.
I take my inspiration from the Intense colors of culture, sweeping sky's,
lush flora and fauna, sun, sand and surf.
I have commissioned pieces in private homes in Yukon, British Columbia, Florida, Germany and England.
Many clients have requested a re-creation of a spot they fell in love with while traveling.
