Artist Statement:
CREATING SPIRITUAL AND MEDITATIONAL SPACES WÝTH LIGHT AND COLOR
In our decade, our thinking has radically changed as a result of changes in attitudes about space and time brought by the reforms in physics and philosophy. These new attitudes forced artists to search for different perceptual states in art, also. Yet, understanding humans as metaphysical beings became more important than illusion of an image for the artists today. In the basis of creating spiritual and meditational spaces, it is concerned with the viewer’s perception that slips into a different perceptual state in front of the work. Releasing light and color from the painted surface and spreading it to the space makes it possible for the participant to enter into the metaphysical space itself, through vision. This new art form concerned with the presence of light, sense of color and feel of the space leaves the viewer with the sense of presence rather than the image. By spreading the color with the light into the space diffuses the edge of the painting and blends it into its environment and the space. Then there is not a formal beginning or end for the painting in the sense of rational, structured ...
