Why I paint....
I paint because art is the one
thing that I've found that
helps me prevent the pain and
frustration of severe and
constant migraine headaches.
When I first began painting,
my work was dark and dramatic
- often negative. As a good
friend and artist told me
"You've got to paint out your
demons before you paint the
pretty stuff". So very true.
As my pain relented and my
quality of life improved, my
work began to reflect the
positive energy that I had
found. Now I receive comments
that speak of the tremendous
energy people feel as they
view my art. "The painter of
Energy" - one person remarked,
tongue-in-cheek. Those that
connect with my art tell me
that they believe they can
feel what I felt as I painted
- years after they placed my
art in their homes and
offices. I do believe that
those that live with Art -
whether as the painter, the
collector, or simply the
viewer - gain untold pleasure
and comfort from living with
pieces that "speak" to them.
Being able to tap into the
energy of Art - and the
wonderful...
