Artist Statement:
Kathy Todd creates large,
tranquil paintings to suit a
variety of situations
particularly in the health and
therapeutic communities. Each
painting is designed to
enhance and complement the
space it occupies to maximize
a sense of well being and
peace. Her international
clients range from the Royal
Marsden Hosipital in London to
an accupuncture centre in
Newtown Massachusetts. Private
and corporate commissions
include yoga/meditation rooms,
prayer rooms, hotel lobbies,
restaurants and even a pool
house.
Kathy works entirely in oil,
layering colours to create a
luminous light sensitive
surface that reacts to even
the smallest changes of
natural light. She prefers to
work en situ in order to
enhance the painting in its
natural environment. 'It's a
very personal relationship
with my clients and wonderful
friendships have been formed'.
Based in the heart of Penzance
at the Old Telephone Exchange,
Kathy welcomes visitors to her
studio by appointment and is
easily accessed on line or by
phone.
