Artist Statement:
"I can't remember a time that
I didn't draw for enjoyment or
to express a point for which
words seem inadequate.
In my drawings I use colour
(or the lack of it)
symbolically and I love
exploring colour, especially
the way various colours
interact with one another and
impact colour has on people.
My visions are my own,
translated here in colour,
form, and line. My art has
come full circle as I explore
those topics closest to my
heart: the interconnectedness
of all living things, the
relationship between life and
death, and the religious
themes that are a common
thread that runs through all
cultures thus binding all
people together as one.
I work primarily in ink and
colour pencils, often
combining the two in any given
piece. My art often has a
political or religious
statement to make, and often I
find the two
indistinguishable."
