Artist Statement:
I am self confessed
lingerieholic, a daughter,
friend and lover.
My art is a revolution against
‘Compulsive Shopping’. The
chosen object to represent
consumerism is underwear
although this product could
have been anything from
handbags, shoes to cars or old
comics. Lingerie is my
compulsive buying purchase
with one hundred and
eighty-one sets, I could wear
items just twice a year but I
still purchase more! The
Lingerie Boutique concept aims
to bring barriers down of
visiting a gallery and gives
viewers the chance to reflect
and question their own
shopping behaviour within a
familiar environment of a
shop.
I am currently in the process
of discussions with sponsors
to bring 'The Lingerie
Boutique' alive with funding.
