Artist Statement:
Our perceptions of time and
space are created by the
language we use and
experience. Language, at its
most basic, consists of
gesture, sound, and mark, all
clues to some past experience
beyond memory—a ghost of
meaning, containing some
comprehensible, relative
meaning.
I have stripped the form of
many references from my work,
and left only their essence,
in order to create that ghost
of feeling and knowing. The
visual experience triggers
memories, both past and
future, then crosses into the
realm of the conceptual....
