at home singing a song about the world and the world replies with a song about oneself
the last years I was working on the idea of getting the personal and the public themes more together. So I started to shoot(!) my home. When I saw the pictures on my computer, frames from somewhere else crossed my mind. from TV, advertising, memory, books....I asked myself what if all those things out there would happen right in my home. So I mounted them together and printed them out on canvas, and started to overpaint them to increase in a way the damage the pictures made, when they came together.
Thinking of this I ended up with the strange feeling of being attacked by an outer world and the need of defence. I built a series of drawing and object, which is called machofighter. (a woman army) So I went more far with this attacks of my home. Now my home was becoming a combat zone. I stroke back with works like „the artists revanche“ but then I got more the feeling of what Nietzsche said: “who fights with monsters, be aware not to become one on itself. And if you look in the abyss long enough, the abyss starts looking back into you“
