Artist Statement:
I always knew I wanted to be
an artist. As a child I
couldn’t wait to paint a
refrigerator masterpiece with
my fingers or sculpt a castle
in the back yard’s mud after a
good rain. I survived most of
my classes by drawing diagrams
and replicas of models to
learn subjects such as
science, geography, and
history. Inspired by music I
filled notebooks full of
redrawn album covers. My
emotions came out in drawings
and sketchbooks turned into a
visual version of therapy. As
a mother I recall past craft
experiences and simplify them
into projects for my sons. I
observe things and am
constantly thinking of how to
recreate it or how it was
produced in the first place.
With the incredible support of
my family I was able to
immerse myself into school,
attending College of
Charleston and subsequently
earning a BA from Kennesaw
State University. Under the
instruction of practicing
artists in these institutions,
I was able to expand on the
passion I already possessed.

enriched my mind with the
