Artist Statement:
I am drawn to unusual angles, dynamic lighting and close study of space. I combine these elements to make images of beauty that invoke the imagination. The images are abstract in nature. They free you to conceptualize on your own. This is your invitation to extend the limits of perception by discovering new dimensions in the colors and shapes before you.
My images are created with the passion of capturing dynamic light playing on bright surfaces in dramatic, evocative ways. Simple found objects that have the characteristics of reflection, translucence or transparence yield most to me. They invite me to create beauty by "painting" them with brightly colored lights.
With transparency film, I allow the "cosmic energy" of the light to evolve into an image by moving various light sources around the simple found objects during long exposures. The object is then given a new life. It starts to glow from the inside out. The ambiguity of the subject matter together with the dazzling lights and the close points of views invites the opportunity for you to conjure up your own reality.
