Artist Statement:
I am an only child. I am a
woman. I am white. These are
the things I feel are
important in my personal,
professional, and internal
life. These are the aspects of
myself that have influenced
me.
There is much to be said about
being an only child: they are
selfish, spoiled, lonely,
creative, self-sufficient.
These adjectives i have read
and heard over the years,
whether they are true is
determent on the person. I
have found that a lot of what
I do I “blame” on being an
only child. As many people do,
I have tried to analyze every
aspect of who I am in order to
better understand me. In doing
so, I realize that being an
only child has affected my
present self. Of course, this
is only loosely based on facts
of only children that I have
seen as patterns among myself
and others I have known.
What drives you today?

The world, her friends,
family, herself. Certain
images, everyday, created,
natural, computer. Creating
something that no one has

me, what makes me want to
