Artist Statement:
"In answer to the world as
it has been given me, artistic
production is a manifestation
of my humanity and a social
action. Reverberation begins
long before and continues long
after the act."
Kenny McBride’s works generate
contextually engaged
Performance Actions,
Installations, Interventions,
and Lens-Based work, often
operating within an
architectonics and pathology
of mediated and lived
experience to inhabit
alienation, hallucination,
being and becoming visual
phenomena.
He is author of many unique
and intensely charged
manifestations, presenting in
many different locations and
contexts in many countries.
He is founder of the research
project PAC (Performance Art
in Context) organising live
events and chronotopic
retrospectives, and founding
editor of new online
Contemporary Art and cultural
encouter journal agora8.org.
He holds various awards
including a Doctoral award
from the Arts and Humanities
Research Council for a major
survey into East European and
Balkan Performance and related
time-based art activity. He
occassionally lectures on
contextual art practices,
responsibility in art, and the
document. He divides his time
between Poland and the UK....
