Artist Statement:
Peter Kovacsys' large cast glass sculptures have a minimalist aesthetic and are made using techniques pioneered by artists in the Czech Republic. Peter draws inspiration for his latest work from Australian landscape and the natural forest surrounding his studio.
Peter provides a complete design and commission service for National and International clients. Public art projects and private or corporate commissions are all catered for in a professional manner.
Peter's art works have featured in many national and international exhibitions. He is represented in the collection of The West Australian Art Gallery and the The Detroit Institute of Arts.
A new book "Peter Kovacsy A Studio Practice" was published 2006. This is a stunning limited edition art history book. It is case bound with 112 pages in full colour, written by Australian art historian Diana Roberts and photographed by Peter Kovacsy.
As the narrative unfolds, it provides an insight into Peter’s creative journey. The story reveals how his temperament and talents have merged with the defining moments in his life to shape and characterise his studio practice.
