Artist Reviews:
"Your pieces are wonderful -
not only works of ART, but
works of BEAUTY. Your works
have a glowing strength of
character found not only in an
extremely gifted eye - to
choose amazing color - but
also in the heart of an artist
whose work shows the love for
his medium."

Artist Statement for Kevin P. Hendon

An understanding of stained glass and its beauty is to take a walk back in time. Reflections of art, and the painted qualities of color in stained glass, WAS the essence of Louis Comfort Tiffany. Tiffany and his European colorists left behind works of incogitable beauty and authenticity that stands frozen in time and among the greatest works of art. Although far from the Tiffany era, my work and love for stained glass has become an integral part of my life. My study of, and devotion to, the Tiffany era is the impact of my work. The Tiffany lamps that you see are true authentic reproductions of museum-quality. The glass, craftsmanship, and materials ARE the finest example in production today. My study and devotion remains active as a long standing member and consultant to the Association of Stained Glass Artists located in Gig Harbor, Wa.

PLEASE NOTE : All shades 22" or larger are reinforced with at least three(3) 12g copper wires soldered from the ring aperture to the lower rim aperture. Price is based on shade only. Complimenting base is available upon request.

The finials (vase caps), bases, and all hardware, used in the construction of these lamp shades are casted from the original Tiffany molds and are interchangeable. That is, they are an optional choice that can be made at the time of sale and are included in the price of the shade price. Personal preference and glass selection (texture and color) are of utmost importance; therefore these selections may be made at the time of the sale or initial commission consultation. There is a possibility that the piece is NOT readily available ( out of stock ) but can be recreated to the client's exact specification. Usually dependent upon acquisition of glass and hardware (Base, filigree, rim, ring, and finials) but usually within 90 - 120 days.

The following works of art have been featured and published by Carolyn Kyle Publishing in the annual ASGLA juried production entitled "Lamps For All Seasons." The 20" Jonquil-Daffodil (2001), 24" Rosebush (2002), 18" Nasturtium (2003), 22" Peony (2004), 14" Dragonfly and the 22" Nasturtium (2005, 22" Laburnum 2006.

Further reviews and photographs representing my work may be found in the most recent article entitled "The Business of Tiffany Lamps" ( Aug/Sept 2005) "Glass Craftsman Magazine" by Chris Peterson.
