Artist Statement:
The ultimate goal of the artist is to become a vessle from which art is created. To be open to perceptions beyond the preconceptions of ordinary reality an artist creates a language which translates these new perceptions. This language must be diciplined and refined to the point where the artist and viewer can make sense of this vision. This clarity will have distinct parameters based on the image being created.
The artwork created is both a mirror of the artists soul as well as a window for other viewers to open themselves to a distinct and altered reality based on the artists perception. By manifesting this perception in some concrete form, the image created becomes a point of refrence, or at best a gateway to heightened perception by the viewer.
The act of viewing art goes beyond the concept of traditional narrative and becomes an experience of being. That state where the viewer is held at that moment in pure perception, without the filter of interpretation.
We exist in a world of constant flux and change. We create parameters of reality to impose structure upon that state, in order to create order in which we can live and prosper. We ...
