Artist Statement:
Art school was the first occasion I became acquainted with the work of artists like Joseph Cornell, Dorothea Tanning and Max Ernst. It was then I began to explore the idea of creating a stage for my visual narratives. This method of working brought me to the positioning of disparate objects in one field and it was a freedom beyond just painting and drawing but I could still incorporate those as well.
I have always been a storyteller and working in this way provided me with an avenue to express my ideas like no other method I had tried before. The digital process and use of encaustic came later but I found their ability to refine text and objects perfect for my purposes.
I continue to work my way out.
