Born and raised in Queens,
NY, JOS-L's drawing experience
began with the usual doodling
on paper or even his books in
school. In high school he
began skateboarding and met
some friends who were artists
and interested in doing
characters and comics. From
this point on, he became more
serious about his drawing,
getting ideas and inspiration
from friends and looking at
designs in the skateboarding,
art, graffiti and music
communities.
Growing up in New York City,
JOS-L was also exposed to many
galleries and museums where he
could go any time for further
inspiration. Going out to
Manhattan,watching and being a
part of city life, being
involved in skateboarding and
snowboarding have also
provided him with an
opportunity to meet many
creative and open-minded
people who have furthered his
art exposure.
He attended illustration,
drawing, painting, and design
classes at The Fashion
Institute of Technology in
Manhattan and Queens College
in Flushing, NY. He also
attended The Skidmore Computer
Career Institute in White
Plains, NY where he earned a
certificate ...
