“I create as an expression of my excitement
and appreciation for the beauty and preciousness
of life. Sharing with you, the viewer, we are
connecting in a silent communication”
With a background in oils, she prefers the texture and versatility of pastel applied to various surfaces including acrylic and watercolor under paintings. Her work includes representational and expressionistic pieces that stimulate the viewer’s imagination. Sensitivity, inspiration and drama are personified in her works of art. She is always open to experimenting with new mediums and techniques.
Kay has studied at Herron School of Art, Indianapolis, Atlanta College of Art and under Internationally recognized instructors including Tetsuo Kobayashi, Albert Handel and Desmond O’Hagan.
Kay is a Signature Member of Excellence with the Southeastern Pastel Society, an exhibiting artist with Arts Clayton and is represented by galleries in Atlanta and North Georgia. She teaches workshops and paints children and animal portraits as well as providing galleries and collectors with original works of landscapes, animals and still life. Her works has been accepted and received awards in international, national and regional exhibitions. Many of her paintings are available as Limited Editions.
International Artist Magazine, The Pastel Journal and American Artist Magazine have featured Kay’s work in their publications. One of her paintings was selected for the front cover of The Guide to Southeastern Coast Magazine, “Seabreeze”
Corporate Collections include Zoo Atlanta, Pets Health Insurance and
US Army Fort McPherson Museum.
