Artist Statement:
I love color and the play of
complementary colors against
each other. My influences are
many, but my latest
inspiration comes from
Mattisse.
I feel that a piece of artwork
should provide a pathway to
something beautiful and happy.
I want my paintings to provide
that moment of escape,
something to take the viewer
outside of themselves: a
recognition of the beauty and
excitement in life.
The process of creating a
painting is a meditation to
me. To be in my studio
surrounded by my paints, light
and music transcends the
immediate world and gives me
great satisfaction and a sense
of the connectedness of all
things.
