Artist Statement:
My work is centered around the
topic of consumer culture.
Through my sculptures I reject
and condemn ideas of wealth
and luxury which I believe to
be not only unnecessary but
objects of shame because of
the greed that they represent.
This concept involves the use
of animal and human imagery.
Animals are incorporated
because we must coexist on the
earth with them and,
therefore, our commodities
affect, and often come from,
animals. My use of materials
directly relates to this
concept. My work is often made
from either the raw material,
the consumer product, or a
combination of the two. My
style is suggestive of fantasy
and surreal imagery which
reflects on the artificiality
of the world we live in....
