Artist Statement:
My work is centered around the topic of consumer culture. Through my sculptures I reject and condemn ideas of wealth and luxury which I believe to be not only unnecessary but objects of shame because of the greed that they represent. This concept involves the use of animal and human imagery. Animals are incorporated because we must coexist on the earth with them and, therefore, our commodities affect, and often come from, animals. My use of materials directly relates to this concept. My work is often made from either the raw material, the consumer product, or a combination of the two. My style is suggestive of fantasy and surreal imagery which reflects on the artificiality of the world we live in....
