Artist Statement:
I like to say I have chosen to
create with beads, but I think
the beads chose me!
What began, as an innocent
hobby has become my meditative
and creative outlet. I use a
variety of off-loom bead
weaving techniques to create
beautiful and unique wearable
jewelry.
As I work, I always explore
the ‘what if’. My open-ended
approach yields many different
designs – sometimes ‘UBO’s
(unidentified beaded objects)
but more often magnificent
finished pieces. It gives me
the freedom to always
experiment with color, shape
and texture.
To enhance the uniqueness of
my pieces I like to use
vintage beads, Venetian glass,
one of a kind lampwork glass
beads and unique clasps.
I have been in Juried Art
shows – Paradise City Arts
Festival; Sun Fest (West Palm
Beach); have work published in
the book, Beadwork Creates
Beaded Rings and have taught
classes at local bead shops
and bead societies in South
Florida.
