Artist Statement:
Today Chris Mackie's work
expresses an entire range of
human emotion, from the
special bond of love and
friendship, to the importance
of self-reflection and
individual triumphs.
Chris wants to highlight the
importance of looking after
the world for future
generations. Whilst some of
his more serious pieces show
the inevitable desperation of
mankind and seeming futility
of the human condition, Chris
then shows us that there is
hope and love. Chris depicts
beautiful poignant moments of
our lives – moments, which we
all understand and which show
our vulnerability.
Recently Chris sold one of his
paintings in a charity auction
and on asking the buyer why
she liked it, she replied; 'It
communicates with my dark
vulnerable side that I don't
display in public'
Chris was blown away by this.
To be able to communicate with
someone through his art gave
him a great feeling of
satisfaction, motivation and a
real sense of belonging.
Chris is involved in numerous
charities and is always
looking to raise funds by the
way of donating his original
paintings and Ltd Ed prints.
He will only do commissions
for charity.
