Artist Statement:
Hawaii – this does not only mean sun, ocean, and beach, but also a unique culture. After visiting the Hawaiian islands for several times Anna fell in love with the ancient Hawaiian culture and the impressive scenery. Nowhere else the immense power of the ocean and earth can be felt like in Hawaii. The beauty of Hawaiian nature keeps inspiring Anna to paint landscapes in oil and acrylic colors. Aloha - this means love - the love to be. Anna´s entire work reflects the love to Hawaii as well as the love to live. Anna Lohengrin describes the essence of painting with a citation of Cicero:„Nothing is more delightful than the light of truth.“ Anna does not use photos to create her works. The motif arises from her retrospection on travels and particularly during meditation. Meditation centers Anna, so that inner clarity and lucidity flows into the subsequent painting. This vibrancy in which the painting is brought into being will remain perceptible to the viewer.
Anna Lohengrin lives and works as painter in Nuremberg. Her paintings are influenced by the style of Dresden and Leipzig school. Anna showed her work at numerous exhibitions.
