My abstracts are about line and colour and how this relates to a situation arising in the present moment. The work begins from an overall feeling about a situational experience. Recognition of a situation, may come on quickly or slowly. With what ever speed it comes on, on the first inkling of it, preparations begin to commence with the painting. The situation is felt and this feeling gets conveyed through a brush dragged across the work surface, making an expressive line in the process.
