Artist Statement:
The current series of work seeks to explore concepts derived from research into Quantum Physics, especially regarding Quantum entanglement and the idea that reality is an illusion.
Using sculpture as a medium I have attempted to bring these ideas into being in a tangible form. Inspired by the words of renowned physicist Albert Einstein, the work attempts to offer a glimpse of the intangible reality surrounding us.
“Human being is part of the whole, called by us, “Universe”, a part limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feelings as something separate from the rest – a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness.”
Albert Einstein

| Your Personal Biography |
Lorry Wedding-Marchioro was born in the city of Adelaide, Australia and first attended art College at North Adelaide School of art studying painting initially, moving on to major in Fibre Construction and Paper Making.
Upon gaining an Associate Diploma she traveled to the United States of America to further her education, studying in Austin, Texas. On her return to Australia she gained employment designing stained glass windows for a local manufacturer and in doing this she found the medium on which she would base her future arts practice.
Further travel to the Middle East and Europe helped to form artistic ideals and upon returning she returned to continue her studies at University of South Australia to major in Glass and Ceramics.
On completion of her degree Wedding-Marchioro began her business, Pericoloso, supplying a range of hand painted slumped glass platters and bowls to the Jam Factory Design Centre and its wholesale division for distribution throughout Australia to galleries and craft outlets. As well as supplying production ware, Wedding-Marchioro also maintained a successful professional practice, exhibiting her Glass art extensively throughout Australia and overseas.
Currently engaged in completing a Masters Degree specializing in Sculpture, she is concentrating on expanding the scope of her work. Utilizing glass and its plastic qualities and combining it with cast and welded metal and wood to create sculpture which responds to the poetic and elusive nature of Quantum Physics. Exploring theories such as Quantum Entanglement to produce work which leads us to question our conception of reality and illusion and the ethereal nature of space.
