Artist Statement:
People are my passion and
putting them on canvas is my
way of sharing them with the
world. There isn't a day goes
by that something doesn't
capture my vision and scream
to be put to canvas. I have
been drawing, using pastel and
ink since I was 9 but only
recently had the extraordinary
chance to paint in acrylic
with my brother, we
collaborated on about 30
paintings and I am inspired.
The canvas is my world now, I
see new ideas everywhere, even
in my dreams, it is nothing to
wake up at 3 am and start
painting. It is my addiction,
I am drawn to colors,
expression, strokes ... my
mind is always working on the
next splash of color I can
share with anyone that is
willing to feel it....

Commissions:
I have done over a hundred
commissioned portraits over
the past 20 years and continue
to do so. The media I have
used in the past have been Pen
and ink, pastel, watercolor
and oils. I have only used
acrylics in the past year....

My mother, she had a studio and encouraged me to draw. Then my brother and I collaborated on paintings and that is when I learned to loosen up and love colors. |

It was part of me from as early as I can remember. I have been drawing and creating since I had my first color crayons. |

| Your Personal Biography |
I am a mother of 3 grown children. I am single and enjoying my painting more than ever. I won 1st place in a juried show in Killeen, Texas when I was 22. I just became serious about painting when I turned 56. I have never had formal training and have always gone with the realistic path, mostly portraits over the past 40 years. Since I turned 56, I have painted everything that inspires me, I have learned to be free with my strokes and lean towards the vibrant colors. Art is my world now, I love it, art is something I have always enjoyed doing but only recently it has turned to my passion, not a day goes by that I don't see something I want to add to my canvas, the world is a most exciting and beautiful place and the ideas are endless. |
