A REVIEW: BY DOROTHY M. JOINER
In a third waterscape, Laurie Pagels balances an island rounded with autumnal foliage in the center with irregular, wooded areas on either side. Casting radiant images on the lake in the foreground, the scene, titled Stillness, (2006) conflates the symbolic perfection implicit in the circle with the tranquility of nature.
