Artist Statement:
I sculpt abstract organic forms, which have a sensual feeling. My sculptures reflect forms found in nature. They evoke images of new life: pods, seeds, flowers, plant life, marine life. They make one think of being in the womb, of a seed ready to burst, of birth. They are very sensual and inviting to the touch; they play with different textures. They’re sexual forms. Evoking thoughts of genitalia, and using a perhaps shocking sexual genre, I express it in a beautiful new language. People always ask me “what is it?” It’s everything you think it is. But I say, “What do you think it is?” ...
