First Online Annual Remodernist Exhibition.
Recently, I played a major role in putting this exhibition together.
Here is a statemwnt on what remodernism is about, by Carson Collines, who originally invited me to join a remodernist group on another online venue:
Remodernism is an alternative to the established High Art hegemony, known as Post-Modernism, and its institutionalized cynicism and ironic detachment. As an Art Movement, Remodernism is somewhat unusual, insofar as Remodernism is defined by the Remodernist painters’ intentions, rather than by any formal qualities of the Remodernist artwork. In other words, Remodernism is a way of thinking about art, and the purpose of art, rather than a specific way of making it. Briefly, Remodernist painters do not think that Modern Art is rubbish, Remodernist painters do not believe that communication via art is impossible, and Remodernist painters do believe that one of the legitimate goals of a Remodernist painters' art can be the sincere expression of an authentic personal spirituality. Spirituality in Remodernist art does not equal religion. Religion is about beliefs and following rules. Spirituality is about the search for truth and Love.

For my part, much of what I have read about on the remodernist site could have taken the words out of my mouth. This is a quote from my own remarks from blogs I have made on my own site, at http://www.geocities.com/lyndastevens and elsewhere:
Recently I was asked to join the ‘remodernist’ group, which apparently is made up of members ‘who would challenge the hegemony of post-modernism.’
I wonder how many people are getting tired of the elitsm, the gimmickism ranging from exhibitng dogs to die (allegedly) to urinals, along with (allegedly from an artist friend-cum-student of mine who saw it), a machine that makes synthetic but authentic manure (with no commercial or scientific application whatsoever, It was All in the Name of Art), to more exhibiting more synthetically-produced poo in various hues?
The Emperors-new-clothes aspect of the cleverness of it all created laziness for me too. Why bother with an inner artistic pah of transmutation or however you might wish to define it, when some graduate from the right school only has to daub an ugly shape with ugly colours (ugliness cannot be superficial).
My own piece exhibited here is called 'Blood and Gold.'
