Flowers for Life
Wars, famine and sickness are facts with which we have to live every day in our world. Our existence is so influenced by technology that we actually cannot almost live without machines, which liberate but also condemn us. Cities are grey and we give our back to ...

ARTIST STATEMENT
We live in a world full of catastrophes, wars, trash TV and shallowness. This gray atmosphere can surround us in a sad and overwhelming way, making us think that this is it: We are trapped in here. There is no way out. Our society is getting worse.
However, I refuse to give up. I am definitely not interested in portraying a culture in decadence such as ours, reflecting what is already obvious almost everywhere. Why would I want to paint ugliness, cruelty or disgusting facts? If you want to see it, you just need to turn on TV, for instance.
I wish to bring different alternatives into life. By creating a universe of warmth, serenity and beauty I try to provide not a blind escape but a different available option. We always have the choice to be encouraging, helpful and happy. We can still make a difference in this world with our own attitudes and actions. We can have a positive influence on others and our environment if we decide to bring out the best of ourselves and make good use of this life. It is just up to us.
Flowers are a metaphor of life itself. They remind us of the never-ending transformation of life, joyful spring after a hard winter. My living flowers fill the canvas. So when you look at them you would feel as an insect would: drunk with the smell, the light, the colours, and the charm of it. Thus you are not an individual anymore. You are One with the flower.
See the flower as dying and you will see it sadly. Yet see the flower as part of a whole tree that is changing and will soon bear fruit, and you see the flower's beauty. When one understands that the blossoming and the falling away of the flower is a sign that the tree is ready to bear fruit, then one understands life.
Humans are not the flower, nor even the fruit, they are the tree.
